Idling Stinks

Idling Stinks: that pretty much says it all.
Turning your engine off whenever you are waiting or parked has a number of benefits:
- It improves air quality in and around the vehicle and in our city in general;
- It reduces the number of Hamiltonians hospitalized by asthma attacks and cardiovascular episodes;
- It helps in reducing the number of greenhouse gases contributing to climate change;
- It saves money and fuel.
Green Venture is delivering the City of Hamilton's anti-idling public education campaign. Our goal is to have every driver in Hamilton turn off their engine if they're to be stopped for more than 10 seconds. After 10 seconds you use more fuel to keep idling than you would to restart your vehicle.
By always turning the key off, we will make Hamilton a healthier place to work, play and grow up.
