Maintain and Save

Regular Maintenance Improves Fuel Efficiency

A well maintained car is safer and more fuel efficient.

Saving fuel is as easy as checking your owner's manual and paying special attention to:

  • Tires - properly inflate, check for wear, rotate often and align when necessary = saves on average 4%
  • Motor oil - choose an energy conserving synthetic oil and keep it clean = saves on average 2%
  • Tune up and air filter = saves on average 15%

If you see tailpipe smoke or hear a problem with your exhaust do the atmosphere a favour and get it checked out.

Tire Pressure Clinics

Green Venture hold Tire Pressure Clinics in community partner parking lots to help their customers save fuel and emissions.

It is not uncommon for each tire to lose 2 psi per month which gives 4% poorer fuel efficiency.  Tires support 95% of the car's weight and need proper air pressure to roll correctly.  That is why we say check pressures monthly (at least) and inflate according to the information placard on the car.
